Peter Donnelly

Director, Venture Development
Peter’s career focus is innovation and early stage technology commercialization. As investor, entrepreneur, operator, and consultant, he has an accomplished record in evaluating and building projects, companies, and portfolios. Prior to LIHTI, he was Associate Vice President for Technology Partnerships at Stony Brook University, where he led industry collaboration, four new venture incubators, four NY State Centers of Excellence and Advanced Technology, intellectual property and licensing, and commercialization of promising early stage technologies. In parallel, as Managing Director of the Accelerate NY Seed Fund, he led early stage investments in science and engineering innovation coming primarily from research institutions. Before that, he led Accenture’s Greater China consulting practice in innovation and product development from Shanghai and managed a very large internal innovation pipeline. As an entrepreneur, he was CEO of a venture-backed early-stage biotech, which he successfully sold, and co-founder and COO of a venture-backed thin film startup. Prior to these posts, Peter worked with Intel and The Boston Consulting Group. He has an MS in Biotechnology and MBA from The Johns Hopkins University.
