About LIHTI

The Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping new technologically-innovative companies grow by providing them with a variety of support resources and services. Many of our services are through programs and centers reporting to the Office of Economic Development. The LIHTI is a 501(C)3 member corporation consisting of two member corporations: The Research Foundation of the State University of New York and the Stony Brook Foundation, Inc. A Board of Directors is appointed to oversee LIHTI operations. Since opening in 1992, LIHTI has been associated with many biotechnology and other technology-based businesses. Most have graduated successfully from the LIHTI program, creating jobs for hundreds of employees.

Our affiliation with the Stony Brook University makes LIHTI an ideal place for cutting-edge R&D. Transferring technology and ideas from the University to the private sector has proven to be the single most important reason why the program has succeeded beyond anyone’s imagination.

Our Mission

LIHTI is a non-profit organization that supports and stabilizes early-stage, high-risk, high-tech businesses. We are dedicated to helping new technologically-innovative companies grow by providing them with a variety of support resources and services. In addition to its beautiful setting, LIHTI’s location on the Stony Brook University campus enables the transfer of ideas from the University to the private sector. The companies that develop and grow as a result of being a part of the Incubator create jobs and expand the tax base on Long Island and in New York State.
